The LTHS Class of '76 40 year Reunion

Fun time was had by all, which included 178 pre-paid and 44 classmates that decided to join us last minute, for a total of 222 folks that reconnected with their past.   Weekend started with an untold number of us having Friday nite 8th grade parties and from what I heard and experienced, these were all very successful and a great time.  On Saturday, the Homecoming Parade was a washout with rain not ceasing for most of the morning and keeping but a few diehards from the football game (LT beat DGN).  With the parade rained out (I felt sorry for the Class of 2016 that built their floats and were ready to go), but with no parade, it gave us more time to tour North Campus.  A very small group of us were able to climb into the North Bell Tower, a very rare opportunity.  See pictures in other FB posts and in our gallery.  Tour of South Campus was also a highlight.  The open house at the Corral was attended by a large number of us 76ers.   I think we outdid the 66ers and definitely outnumbered the one Class of ’46 member that was there.   Again, see the pictures.   Overall, the reunion Saturday event went off without a hitch.  Food, music and the people were all excellent.  (Though we did have 5 or so party crashers that just loved our 70’s music).   To round out the good news - we did not lose money over our homecoming weekend (we were close, but all the last-minute attendees pushed us over).  We have enough left over funds to provide LTHS Alumni Club with a couple of scholarships and help the Alumni Club with a project or two.

I would like to thank Via Bella’s for their perfect setting for our reunion; and thank all those that organized the Friday night 8th grade parties,  And, most of all, I must thank all of the dedicated members of the reunion committee.  It was 10 months of hard work, but the camaraderie and friendships built within the committee, not to mention the party-like atmosphere of most of our meetings, helped us make this a very memorable reunion.  Committee:  Dan Cozza, Jill Swanson, Sue Caldwell Badger, Paul Devitt, Dave Pipal, Keith Kovarik, Mark MacLean, Keeley Hudson Johnson, Stephany Pomeroy Johnson,  Jeanne Vaikutis Volmer,  Nancy Fletcher Fraser,  John O’Connell, Regina O’Conner McNichols, Jeff Matook, Mo Fanning Dunne,  Paula Graffy Gargano, Diane Schlenker Kasnick, Linda Owens Dumas, Brenda Kringlie Kramm, Reni Rovinskas-Bruner, and Mike Trtol.  I hope I did not forget anyone.   But thanks also needed for my family for putting up with me doing this yet again, and for them helping out at the front desk during the evening.   Definitely a great crew to work with all around as it takes a big group to make this all work and be fun at the same time. THANKS ALL!

Also, thanks to those that donated items for the Class of ’76 door prizes;  Chuck Bolton (Reinvented Me and Reinvented Leader) , Mary Cooper Feliz (Address to Die For), Gino Blando (Marry Me Jewelers), Bob and Kathy Nicolls,  and Dave Pipal with the LTHS Boosters.  Congrats to those that walked away with great books to read, LTHS gear, a one-of-a-kind LT76 Charm, and a ski weekend at the Nicolls’ ski resort in Colorado.

Check out the pictures in other posts in FB and at our gallery at:  https://dropevent.com/gallery/lths76  Not sure how long that site will be open but there are over 350 pictures there right now.  (I don’t think we can label them, but looking into that.)

Next reunion is in 2026.  It will be here before you know it.  Keep the LTHS Alumni Club posted on change of address and emails.
